Domino Sugar All American Classic Edible Fashion Competition Live Event Details
Our four teams mission is to design and create a summer dress and accessories out of 5 edible products to be worn by a model down our runway! The 5 products that must be used are Choco-Pan's modeling chocolate, gumpaste or fondant, Sugar Veil, Photo Frost edible papers/images, Barry Callebaut Chocolate in any form and Isomalt Sugar. They will be allowed to create 75% of their outfit before the competition with the remaining 25% made at the event. The winning cake artist will receive $5000 and the winning college student will receive $2500 as well as an archive tour of Tommy USA in NY,NY.
At the competition we will be raffling off some amazing gift baskets donated by area businesses. Get your Program Guide while supplies last and pick up an event t-shirt to get all of those celebrity signatures on!
We are pleased to have Betsy Hilfiger from Tommy USA as our emcee. Also with us are our judges, Melissa Sarat, internationally renown artist, Betty Van Norstrand, 3 time Olympic Gold Medal winner, Master Sugar Artist, teacher author and designer of equisite cakes and last but not least up and coming fashion designer Anna Hovet of Anna Hovet Designs.
This event will immediately follow our cake competition starting at 6pm in the food court at The Shops at Ithaca Mall. Following the runway show we will be having a Meet-N-Greet hor'douvre hour that admission will be by ticket only. You will have a chance to meet all of the competitors, judges, Betsy Hilfiger and Norman Davis from The Sweet Life!
